Storyboard plus now for Windows

Andrew Harrison's eighteen stories for English learners formerly known as *Storyboard plus* have now been renamed: *Eighteen Stories* and have been rewritten for Windows using the Storyboard and Gapmaster modules of Wida's Authoring Suite. *Eighteen Stories* are delivered on CD-ROM only (although the old *Storyboard plus* continues in production).

These stories are read in British received pronunciation by the author in his authentic style complete with hesitations, repetitions, some stumblings and all. Early intermediate learners can listen as often as they like to whole passages on CD or to sections. The Storyboard activity asks users to reconstruct an ideal summary of the reading. In the Gapmaster activity the learners have to fill in gaps containing words or ideas the author wants them to work on. When working with Storyboard the users can also look at a transcript of the whole unabridged reading.
