P Work Pass Holders |

Professionals, managers, administrators, investors, entrepreneurs, and others e.g. top artistes and musicians, includes cream of current employment pass holders Privileges: 2 years renewable work passes in the first instance and 3 years work passes upon subsequent renewals and exceptional P pass holders may be granted renewable work passes of up to 5 years. P pass holders can work in all sectors of the Singapore economy with no levy or restriction on the number of P pass holders a company can employ. Dependent's passes for spouse and children. Long term visit passes for parents & parents-in-law.

Q Work Pass Holders |
Skilled workers, technicians and those with specialized skills. The Q pass will be for the lower EP calibre foreigners
Q1
: Monthly income of more than S$2500. Privileges: Dependent's passes for spouse and children. Q2: Is now replaced by S Pass . Those who do not meet Q1 income and educational requirements. Holders of S Pass with salary of S$2501 is allowed to bring in spouses and children There will be no levy or restriction on the number of Q pass holders a company can employ. Q pass holders may work in all sectors in Singapore . Applicants who qualify for Q passes will have renewable work passes valid for 2 years in the first instance and 3 years upon subsequent renewals and will be allowed to work up to the prevailing retirement age. the levy for S Pass is S$50 a month

R Work Pass Holders |
Semi-skilled and unskilled workers e.g. construction and marine sector workers subject to levy, sectoral restrictions and company's dependency ratio ceiling
R pass holders cannot bring in their immediate family members to live with them in Singapore. Worker subjected to security bond and medical examination required for current 2-years work permit holders. This same rule applies to foreign domestic helpers |
