THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO COMPOST

An entertaining video which will inform you of all aspects of composting and worm farming with Peter Rutherford, Organic Horticulturist and Rebecca LeTourneau, TV Science Journalist.

What is compost? Compost is rich organic matter which has thoroughly decomposed. Organic matter is anything that was once part of a plant or an animal, for example, garden or lawn cuttings and kitchen scraps.Get the most from your soil while you replenish the earth.

Why make compost? Reduce water usage. Reduce rates and taxes. Reduce pressure on our dwindling landfill sites. Reduce energy consumption and pollution. Increase your plants health and growth rate. Sustain the soil's fertility for future generations.
This program is suitable for children as well as adults. A companion booklet/study guide (for the advanced composter) is also available for an extra AUD $5.00 (refer to the order page). Each one of us can make a difference to a healthier environment if we just do simple things like making compost and putting the nutrients back in the earth.

FROM STRESS TO FREEDOM
With The Alexander Technique

The Alexander Technique is a revolutionary method of physical and emotional re-education, and is perfect for our times. Devised by Australian Frederick Mathias Alexander after recurrent hoarseness and lack of vitality, it is a powerful tool for alleviating tension patterns which so often lead to ailments including fatigue, depression, anxiety, irritability and numerous aches and pains.

It is by now a plain brute fact that the Alexander Principle works. It is also a plain brute fact that most of the population need it but know nothing of it. Dr. Wilfred Barlow 1990

So what is the answer? We can re-learn to use our bodies as nature intended and re-discover the freedom of our childhood. Many well known personalities have benefited from Alexander lessons including John Cleese, Kenneth Brannagh, Mary Steenbergen, Paul McCartney and Bonnie Langford.

This story of perceptiveness, of intelligence and persistence shown by a man without medical training, is one of the true epics of medical research and practice. Prof. Nikko Tinbergen, Nobel prizewinner in medicine.

GOING TRIBAL
A Documentary Journey Into New Territory

This documentary was aired on the SBS TV network in Australia. It received much media and critical acclaim and dealt with a group of people some call 'Ferals'. They are the cousins of the 'New Age Travellers' in Britain and the 'Rainbow Tribe' in the USA. Some say this is the beginning of a whole new social movement.

Easily distinguished by their exotic dress and dreadlocked hair, ferals travel around the country like modern day gypsies. Most have left good jobs or well-off homes from the better suburbs. They disdain materialism, embrace most of the New Age philosophies and fight on the frontlines of forest conservation. They wish to reintroduce an earth-based, pagan religion and live in harmony with nature.

The filmmakers took well over a year to make this documentary, living and travelling in all situations and having to overcome a strong distrust of the media. The program is non-confrontational and attains a warm, intimate relationship with the subjects as we gradually begin to understand and accept their radical lifestyle.

KISSING CROCODILES

The Barefoot Bushman Series is an extraordinary look at some of the most feared wild animals in Australia through the unique eyes of Rob Bredl - a real life Crocodile Dundee.

Rob has been handling wild and dangerous animals all his life. With his years of experience he knows and understands animal behaviour like no-one else. Being a natural performer, he demonstrates his different approach to wild animals with humour, energy and complete ease.

Rob: ...either crocodiles are not mean and nasty or I don't taste good!

In Kissing Crocodiles, Rob explains what he believes is the true nature of the crocodile. Having spent years hunting, breeding and living with them, he says they are purely instinctive, not vicious and cunning as generally perceived.

This episode includes footage that has never been seen before: crocodile attacks and kills, close-ups, egg laying and breeding. Rob sits on their backs, puts his hand in their mounths and kisses them on the nose; he even swims with a 4.5 metre crocodile. There are also some remarkable stories from people who have been attacked and narrowly escaped.

DANCING WITH DINGOES

In this episode Rob Bredl deals with his next love after crocodiles - the dingo. Like the crocodile they are grossly misunderstood and maligned. Rob shows you the world from the dingoes' perspective: how they hunt, track animals and react to humans. He explains that they are aloof, independent and difficult to domesticate.

For the first time, Dancing with Dingoes gives the big picture of dingoes - how they arrived in Australia as the first feral animal and how they are in danger of becoming extinct. This episode also gives insight into the most controversial Lindy Chamberlain "a dingo ate my baby" case ( which was made into the film Evil Angels).
