English Crosswords

Crosswords have long been a popular pastime and our program can provide an infinite number of crosswords which are never repeated. You won't just have fun doing crosswords, you will increase your vocabulary by learning new words and the meanings of words you have already come across. The Crossword Generator uses words and definitions from the Collins English dictionary as a database for the crosswords, each time creating a new crossword in a split second, omitting any words which have previously been "guessed".

For your crossword you can choose either all the words in the database or a selection according to your language level. You can also choose the type of grid: large or small, depending on how much time you want to spend on the crossword. The competition mode allows you and your friends or colleagues to generate one and the same crossword on any number of separate computers and see who is the best.
