"Maritime Security" is a video-based program offering Awareness, Prevention and Response training for dockside and shipside workers and managers, security and port operations personnel, police and fire officials, contractors, and others who may work at or near port facility. 2003 release .

The program examines the major security issues faced by the maritime industry including petty thievery, grand larceny, smuggling of illegal goods and people, and the growing threat of terrorism. It also outlines common sense policies that both security and non-security employees can use on a daily basis to help keep ports secure.

Among the topics covered are gathering information, logging data, identifying suspicious activities, and calling for help. The program emphasizes the importance of maintaining an awareness of the surroundings, and recognizing when something does'nt look right.? It examines the typical behavior of a criminal or terrorist who is setting up a crime, and offers ways that maritime businesses can secure their facilities to prevent crimes before they happen. Shipside and dockside workers learn correct response procedures in the event of a problem or potential problem.
