A Malaysian Worker may apply for a change of employer whilst still in current employment in Singapore without the need to obtain existing employer's pre-consent in writing but the current work permit must be cancelled before the work permit collection date and Passport validity of more than 7 months.

Note: *vocational certificate is not acceptable

To qualify for a lower levy rate the Malaysian worker must have at least Completed Secondary Education i.e SPM or O level . Ensure that the original and copy of the worker's original educational / school leaving certificate is produced for verification by MOM.  If worker is already on the low levy rate modification of education level is not allowed. This status would be reflected automatically in MOM's records.
