AVP-W98-136016    Understanding Electronic Circuits

The first in a series of 5 CD ROMs on Electronics. As well as audio-visual presentations on many aspects of electronic components and design, this CD includes a host of animations of circuits in which the voltage is represented using colour, and the current by dot motion; representing circuits in this way has been shown to dramatically reduce the time taken for students to understand the concept of voltage and current, and fill in conceptual gaps that many students are left with - even up to University level. Includes photocopiable worksheets, teacher's guide, student handbook.

AVP-W98-376008    Electronic Circuits and Components and Parts Gallery

There are two applications on this CD-ROM: Electronic Circuits and Components provides a sound introduction to the principles and application of the most common types of electronic components and how they are used to form complete circuits. Sections on the disk include: fundamental electronic theory, active components, passive components, analogue circuits and digital circuits. Features interactive laboratories and over 20 links to pre-designed Electronics Workbench circuits.

Many students have a good understanding of electronic theory but still have difficulty in recognising the vast number of different types and makes of electronic components. The Parts Gallery has been designed to overcome this problem; it will help students to recognise common electronic components and their corresponding symbols in circuit diagrams. This CD-ROM also incorporates components and symbol quizzes so that students can test their knowledge.

AVP-W98-449002    Multimedia Sound

This interactive CD-ROM contains a database of sounds, along with software to enable waveforms to be displayed, sound spectra to be analysed and sounds to be synthesised. Users can display and analyse sounds which they have generated. Supporting these interactive features are text files which provide the essential supporting theory, give information about the sounds included and suggest some student activities.
